I’ve created some useful tools for film photographers. Feel free to share them and let me know if you see something broken.
Developer temperature correction
Don’t stress about nailing your film developer temperature: you can change the development time to compensate for this difference. Since the usual tables provided are hard to read and use, I made this calculator for all of us.
f-stop calculator for the darkroom
If you have an electronic enlarger controller you might want to work out your times in f-stops. It’s useful to have your dodging and burning parts in f-stops so they could be reproduced in the future easier.
Reciprocity compensation
For longer than ~1 second shots film stops behaving in a linear way and we need to extend the times. The amount varies somehow for each film.
% of flash
In light meters like the Sekonic 308S when you meter your flash you’re also measuring the ambient light. In more advanced versions the meter can tell you. If you’re like me, you can include the ambient light measurement and the ambient+flash and I’ll give you the % of those two lights!
